We know how much fun it can be to experiment with trends! However, because our school days are packed with hands-on art, sports, and active playground play, fake nails and nail polish aren't practical for school. Press-on or acrylic nails can easily catch and tear during games, leading to painful injuries. We ask that fancy nails, makeup, and nail polish be saved for weekends and school holidays.
To keep students safe during outdoor play and PE, jewellery and accessories must also be kept to a minimum:
Permitted: Plain studs or small sleeper earrings, standard watches, items of cultural significance (such as taonga, which should be tucked safely under shirts during physical activity) Simple, practical hair ties or clips.
Not Permitted: Hoop or dangling earrings, rings, fashion bracelets, loose necklaces, and excessive or bulky accessories (such as oversized belts, decorative chains, or extra novelty bags). Makeup.
When representing the school, hair must be tidy.
When dressing for non-uniform days, school events, or general activities, we ask that clothes are practical, comfortable, and child-appropriate for an active school environment:
Tops and bottoms should provide full coverage for bending, climbing, and active play (avoiding items that are excessively short, see-through, or very low-cut at the front).
Shoes should be supportive and suitable for running and PE.
Practical hats, caps, and headwear are the school expectation in terms 1 to 4. (In the playground).
Our focus is on active learning, physical play, and student wellbeing. Essential skin protection such as sunscreen, clear lip balm and prescribed skin treatments is always permitted. If a student arrives wearing non-compliant items, staff will support them to store them safely, adjust, or remove them for the day.
